I was just postulating that hotels are the place where doilies have taken their last stand. Then, days later, I check into a hotel and spy this:
May the doily doubters out there be satisfied, and doily enthusiasts take heart. And, needless to say, I predict that wet rings on fine tabletops everywhere will tremble and dry to hear news that their lace-laden nemesis is flourishing.
